...to my blog! I am a wedding photographer located in the fabulously beautiful Bay Area, California! I love to photograph weddings, and I've been known to spread my talents to other forms of portraiture as well (such as maternity, and boudoir). This blog will serve to keep you posted on recent work, as well as new portrait adventures, and just my adventures in life as well! Autumn Winery Wedding (just a taster! full post soon to come...)

Ok....so in my mind warping editing benders of late I've been getting SO excited while going through the images of my last 2 weddings of the season. This year has been such an awesome year...full of awesome clients! I wanted to share a couple of my favs from Brandon and Kim's winery wedding too! I will definitely be posting more from their super adorable wedding...but for now here are 2 from their wedding that I love...  (ps-check out their super awesome engagement portraits too! --> HERE)

I can't WAIT to share more from their wedding with you...these guys were so freaking fun and easy going that we got some super-amazing-and-romantic portraits. Love it!

Carmel wedding teaser

So I've been working allll day today editing my last two weddings of the season. I couldn't have ended my year with any other weddings, they both were so amazing and gorgeous in their own way.  While editing Tawnee and John's Carmel wedding, I came across this image I captured. The light was magical...as a photographer you can only dream that every wedding has this sort of light. (please note NONE of this is photoshopped. Besides some basic color correction...this is straight out of the camera)

With that said....here is a sneak peek at Tawnee & John's wedding, and one of my personal favorites from the wedding day...

 

The funny part was we had driven to the coast of Monterey to get some beach portraits. When Orbie & I got out of the car, however, we went crazy with excitement over this magical light....luckily Tawnee and John trusted us and went along with it when we had them climb up this dirt mound (no easy feat for a bride in heels!!). We still ended up getting some coastal portraits also...but this one still is hands down my fav!!

Emily & Eddie - Eagle Ridge Wedding

A few months ago I got to photograph the lovely wedding of Emily & Eddie. These two are such sweet, fun people, it was such a pleasure to photograph their wedding! You can check out their engagement session here.  It was a gorgeous day, and we were able to capture some super cute portraits...I put some of my favs below.

Gia & Ken Part 2 - Santa Cruz Engagement Session

So here is part 2 of Gia & Kens totally awesome and spectacular engagement session! After our fun adventures in downtown Santa Cruz, we decided to head over to Wilder Ranch for a different environment. It was such a pleasure to photograph these two! They both are so fun, easy going, and so very obviously in love with each other! I can't wait to photograph their wedding next year!

This one was definitely one of my favorites....

Even though the tall fields had been recently mowed (boo), the grass lawns were such a gorgeous bright green (yay!)!!

 

I want to send a special thank you to Gia & Ken for making this portrait session such a fun experience! You guys were such a blast to work with!  I had a great time photographing you both, and I can't wait to photograph your wedding next year!!

Gia & Ken engagement session (part 1)

Ok....so I was going to start doing some posts on weddings from throughout this season (that I fell behind on due to my own wedding, which will also be posted soon). They're from the last couple months, so I know that in theory I should be posting about those to catch myself up blog-wise. But I just uploaded a superawesomeandamazing engagement session gallery from a shoot I photographed just a couple weeks ago, and I'm so excited about it I just HAD to post about it! I know you understand....

Gia and Ken are getting married next year at the oh-so-fabulous Hollins House (great views, gorgeous setting...always a blast to photograph there!), and they were hoping to do their engagement session during the fall. So, after a fabulous brainstorming session, we decided to start off in downtown Santa Cruz (fun, vibrant, sassy), then work our way to Wilder Ranch (rustic, rural, equally sassy!). I LOVE photographing engagement sessions in a variety of locations...you get such a diverse selection...plus, who doesn't love a couple wardrobe changes? In the process of editing for this blog post, trying to narrow down my favorites was almost painful because I LOVED so many of the images we captured!!! Sooooo, I've decided to dive it into 2 posts! Double the awesomeness!!!

Up first....Fun and sassy downtown Santa Cruz!!!

Jessica & Louis engagement session

Back in August, I had the great pleasure of photographing Jessica & Louis' wedding. These guys are so completely in love that it was adorable to see (and photograph). Sweet, fun, easygoing...I have been SO blessed this year to have such consistently awesome clients! Before I post their wedding, I wanted to share some from their engagement session, which took place down in Capitola. I LOVE Capitola....so many great colors and textures!

Emily & Eddie's engagement session

Awhile back I got to photograph the fabulous wedding of Emily & Eddie. Before I share those with you though, I want to share their engagement session first! These guys are super sweet, mellow, and were so fun to work with! Emily wanted to go to this gorgeous winery in the Cupertino hills for their engagement session, and I have to say...this place was beautiful! Cool barns, rolling hills, a gorgeous day, and an awesome couple...what more can a photographer ask for?

Brandon & Kim's engagement session

Ooook! I hope you're all ready for some blog-aganza! And to kick it off, I thought I'd share Brandon & Kim's engagement session! Brandon and Kim got married this October at a winery out in Livermore (fabulous images soon to come!), and for their engagement session we headed down to the lovely Monterey area for a sassy, fun photo shoot. 

The rain decided to visit, but that didn't stop us!

MARRIED!

So...you're wondering...where the heck did Rebecca go? no blogs...barely any twitters-I know...I fell off the grid. HARD. Most of you know why, but if you don't, it's because yesterday (October 11,2009) I got MARRIED (to the oh-so-fabulous Mr. Orbie Pullen!!) Awesome, exciting, overwhelming...it was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be. So, with that said, I would just like to give an extra special thank you to all my clients who have been so patient during this wild and crazy time. 

With that in mind, I want to let you all know that (as with follows most weddings lol) Orbie and I will be on our honeymoon starting this Friday Oct 16 through Tuesday October 3d. During this time, I will be unable to process any prints orders, or fulfill any album revisions. Also, I am unsure about phone or email access, so please excuse any delays in responding to phone or email messages.

Bay Area Boudoir Portraits...

Some one asked me not too long ago what my favorite part of photographing a wedding was. To be honest, it was something I hadn't asked myself in a long time. In answering it, I realized something that had been in the back of my mind, but had never thought much of. Wedding photography is such an amazing and challenging career. To be able to photograph such a magical day, to be able to capture such unique and fleeting moments, is such an amazing experience. With all of that said, one of my secret favorite parts of a wedding is.....photographing the bride!

It's true...one of the things I look forward to most is the brief fraction of the day where I get to photograph the bride, one on one. The bride, looking stunning with her hair and makeup done, in her gorgeous gown, and radiating excitement and anticipation, is such a beautiful sight. Even still, she can often be nervous and unsure. That where I come in! I love being able to come in and reassure the bride how fabulous she looks (which they always do!!), and tell her about all the beautiful, sassy portraits we're going to take. While taking said sassy portraits, I get to see the bride relax, have fun, and really get into it, and it is such a fun time for everyone!! The bride gets to flaunt her sassiness, and I get to be there to capture it! I've already taken this same mentality to maternity (who says pregnant women can't be sassy?! exhibit A)...

So, you ask....where AM I going with this? Well, in answering that question, it made me realize I could take this favorite part of working a wedding, and turn it into its own fabulous moment! Boudoir!! Eureka! Women deserve to pamper themselves, to feel SEXY! Boudoir gives women a chance to flaunt it, bring out their inner sassy (and the fiances/husbands win too! Can you say best surprise gift EVER?) I think as women, in all the madness of life, we forget how truly sexy we are. Boudoir is a great way to bring out that inner sexiness, and to document it! With that said, I am SUPER excited about being able to offer boudoir portraits here in the bay area, to be able to offer women a chance to take classy, sexy portraits (whether for themselves or their significant other), and I can't wait to share more about this with you over the next couple months!  

Alright...enough chattering from me! Here are some more sassy portraits I've taken recently....
